Striking Display Frinton

A spectacular display of lightning taken from the Greensward at Frinton-on-Sea during the early hours of 19th July 2014. Yes, this picture was as risky as it looked to take! I was standing in the open with a metal tripod supporting my camera and the lightning was virtually overhead. Minutes later a violent hissing noise streaked over me with a blinding flash accompanied by an immediate deafening crack of thunder giving me the cue to get into the car without delay.
