Taken on 16th October 2004 when moult to 2nd-winter is virtually complete. From this angle the pale window on each wing caused by the paler inner primaries is very clear. This plumage creates much contrast with features such as the dark tail band, lightly streaked white rump, pale grey back ( scapulars and mantle , streaked hindneck, whitish head and intricately-patterned wings all standing out.
